Fun in the Summer Time - Infant

This week our theme is Summer! We have been talking all about summertime and the types of things we can do in warm weather, like swimming or eating ice cream! Our infants loved talking about summer while we looked at different photos of summer activities. We practiced pointing to familiar objects and animals we saw in the photos together. It's summer time in our classroom and there have been many ways that we have been enjoying it! The children are having two opportunities to splash around in the pools this week and there is a new splash pad to play in as well. Some of the children are enjoying it a little more than others but all are coming around to it and are splashing and having a ton of fun while outside. This weeks theme is "Summer"

The children made "Lemonade" by stamping spools on paper and gluing on straws, Ice cream cones by decorating with paint. sprinkles and a cherry on top, Fish- out of cupcake liners and gluing on eyes and stamping bubbles with paint and a Sun- by painting yellow and gluing on orange ray stripes.

Everybody loves a good summer theme! Monday in art the children painted a paper plate red and green to create a watermelon! In math the children used a die to determine how many watermelon seeds to add to the watermelon, great counting activity. In language the children talked about activities they can do in the summer. Hello Families!

We hope that you had an awesome week just like we did! This week was a little different from the rest because some of the children had safety town while the others stayed back. Our safety town friends learned how to be safe while out and about such as fire safety, how to look both ways when crossing the street and swimming safety just to name a few! This week in Summer School Age:

Monday: We went to Bohlken Park in Fairview. The rain tried to scare us off once again, but we waited it out and had lots of fun playing on the climber and getting teams figure out for a game of soccer.

Tuesday: Half of the class went on a walking field trip to the Weaving Supply & Studio to create a painting with Tempera paint & pastel crayons.

Coach Charlotte Returns! - Summer School Age

This week in Summer School Age:

June 14: Coach Charlotte visited the center to guide the kids through different exercises and then we went Bain Park. The rain tried to dampen our spirits, but we waited it out and had a fun day at the park. William also brought in a birthday treat to share with everyone!

Honoring Our Fathers - Infant

This week in the infant classroom the theme is Father’s in honor of Father’s day. We talked all about Dad’s and loved looking at our family photo board together. Our older infant’s enjoyed finding their own family photos and practicing saying Mama and Dada. The younger infant’s enjoyed pointing to familiar friends in the photos with teachers! It has been a fun week with many activities that have centered around the father's and father figures in their lives and the children have loved every minute of it.
