This week has been such a fabulous week with music. Let me tell you, we have been doing a lot of dancing this week! On Monday, we learned about classical music and how soothing it could be. Many of the children realized that classical music is the type of music that we listen to when napping. On Tuesday, we learned about jazz/blues. The children told us about their feelings when listening to this music. For example, when the music was upbeat, the children felt happy and when the music was a s...

The theme this week is Music! We have done so much. Practicing our favorite songs including exaggerated movements and sounds has been by far the most fun for not only the infants but for us teachers! A crowd favorite has been Old MacDonald. Practicing the animal noises together always brings a smile to our older infant’s faces. Hearing a big “moo!” or “oink!” from the teacher’s has encouraged the infants to try the sounds all on their own! A few of the infa...

Summer time is a good time to play sports and learn about sports. Monday was all about baseball. In art the children painted with a baseball, similar to marble painting, rolling the painted ball around in a box to paint the paper. In math the children sorted baseballs by size, and some children put the balls in order from big to small. In language the children dictated how you play baseball. Tuesday basketball day; in art the children glued pieces of yarn to paper and in math they talked abou...

This week in the infant classroom is the Sports theme. The stringing toys were a blast but a challenge. Us teachers would hold the tip of the lacing toy upright for the infants. We would encourage the infants to pick up and hold the different anim...

And We made our classroom look like we were under water, with our own school of neon jel...

Merry Christmas in July! I hope everyone has been well and are celebrating the lovely Christmas in July :) The children sure have been this entire week. We had a discussion about what they children think Santa does when he isn't delivering presents in December. One common answer was that they believe he hib...
