This week in the infant classroom the theme is America the Beautiful! We have explored and talked about a lot but here are our favorite’s from the week. Our older infants were able to participate in mud day with the center! It was a wonderful exciting time and we loved seeing our infants explore the sensory of the mud. We practiced gluing red and blue strips of paper and blue star cut outs to white paper. The older infant’s also explored finger paint and ice cubes as a group today! We have practiced our animal noises while singing Old MacDonald using farm animal puppets and talked about healthy fruits and veggies as we explored plastic food on plates at our play kitchen. It’s been a wonderful week in the infant classroom but we look forward to our new theme starting Tuesday. Happy fourth of July! Until next time!

This week our theme is Summer! We have been talking all about summertime and the types of things we can do in warm weather, like swimming or eating ice cream! Our infants loved talking about summer while we looked at different photos of summer activities. We practiced pointing to familiar objects and animals we saw in the photos together. The infants loved singing songs like the itsy bitsy spider, twinkle twinkle little star and Old MacDonald! We practiced the motions to the songs with our older infants while the you younger infants enjoyed listening to them during tummy time and while sitting up. We’ve explored sticking different small toys to sticky paper, drop-in mini ring boxes and so much more! We look forward to a new theme next week, until next time!

This week in the infant classroom the theme is Father’s in honor of Father’s day. We talked all about Dad’s and loved looking at our family photo board together. Our older infant’s enjoyed finding their own family photos and practicing saying Mama and Dada. The younger infant’s enjoyed pointing to familiar friends in the photos with teachers! We also practiced dropping clothes pins into empty juice bottles together, making marks on chalk boards and dropping sensory balls down a large tube! Our older infants loved practicing furniture walking and standing during play where our younger infants practice longer lengths of tummy time and sitting up with help. It’s been a wonderful week in the infant room but we look forward to a new theme next week. Until next time!

This week in the infant classroom the theme was under the sea! All of our infant’s loved practicing sticking orange fish cut outs to clear sticky paper. We counted the fish out loud together as we explored. We also practiced reaching for and popping bubbles in class as a group, and watching our electric aquarium in the dark. The infant’s enjoyed pointing to and clapping as the fish and dolphins moved in the aquarium! We also played a game of peek-a-boo using ocean puppets! It was so fun to watch and talk about the infants reactions with them during the game. We look forward to our first summer swim on Friday as well! It’s been a blast this week but we look forward to our summer theme starting Monday. Until next time!

This week in the infant classroom the theme is Superheroes! We have had a blast this week but here are a few favorites. The older infant’s loved talking about superheroes in our community like doctors and firemen while we explored community helper dolls. We listened to stories about animals and practiced pointing to and talking about the animals we saw on the pages. The infant’s also explored bubble wrap and practiced taking steps on or feeling the texture together. Our younger infant’s stood in shallow water and loved to talk out loud with teachers how the water feels and what we think about it. It’s been a great week but we’re excited to move onto a new theme next week! Until then!

This week in the infant classroom the theme was camping! The infants had a blast but here are a few crowd favorites. Our older infants loved experimenting with mini flash lights and shining them on the ground and floor around us. The younger infants loved to spot the lights and reach for them as they practiced tummy time and crawling. Our smallest infants enjoyed looking up at and reaching towards bubbles we waved over top of them! We of course practiced shaking different sensory bottles and musical shakers, and making marks on paper with jumbo crayons and chalk with teacher help! It has been a wonderful week but we look forward to a new theme next week. Have a great Memorial day everyone!

This week in the infant classroom the theme was Circus! Our infants had a blast exploring all types of different things but here are our favorites! The older infants enjoyed using different types of brushes along with water and making marks on different pieces of colorful pieces of paper on an art easel. Everyone in the room loved telling stories and singing songs using different animals and we also got a chance to practice animal names using the puppets! The infants explored empty boxes and practiced dropping small toys and bean bags inside, as well as stacking them up high and knocking them back down. The older infants also used the art easel and chalk outside this week and enjoyed this warm weather we have been having! It's been so much fun exploring together but we look forward to a new theme next week. Until then!

This week in the infant classroom we explored the gardening theme! The Older Infants loved using fake flowers and taking them in and out of the strainers. We talked about how we can grow food and flowers from the ground. The infants also loved talking about the photos on the play yard wall, we practiced pointing to familiar objects like more flowers, animals and different weather in the photos.
The younger infants practiced using stacking rings! Some enjoyed putting the rings off while others mastered putting them on.
Our older infants also enjoyed using black paint on pink paper to make ladybugs and using orange and pink paint to make flowers at the art easel while standing.
The infants also liked taking the different pom poms off the table top and place them in the different holes of the muffin tin. We also used mini tongs to move the pom poms with teacher's help.
We had a blast this week but look forward to our circus theme next week!

This week in the infant classroom the theme is Mother’s! We have done so much this week. The infant’s loved working on their Mother’s day gifts. We practiced saying “mom” or “mama” through out the week, and also the group enjoyed looking at family photos on our door and talking about whose Mom’s and dad’s we could see in the photos. The older infant’s practiced sticking fake flowers in and out of plastic strainers! We also tried using colorful bingo dabbers, pounding benches and rolling balls back and forth to one another. It was fun to practice taking turns with that activity. We also enjoyed watching our caterpillars fully grow into butterflies! Next week we look forward to our Gardening theme. Until next time!

This week the theme is transportation! The infants enjoyed the week but here are a few crowd favorites. Our older infants each used their own stamp pad and practiced moving matchbox cars through the ink, then moving them to poster board on the table. It was fun doing this in a group of 3-4 infants at a time, as we were able to practice sharing space at the table, clap for one another and talk about what friends were near! We also practiced using the pull and go transportation vehicles on the classroom floor. We sang the wheels on the bus and pointed to and spun the wheels on these vehicles together. The older infant’s practiced gluing different cut out shapes to paper, and tossing bean bags over a masking tape line on the ground! It has been a wonderful week in the infant room, but we look forward to a new theme and seeing our parents inside the building again! Until then!
