This week in the infant classroom the theme was colors and shapes! Here are a few things we did this week. Our older infants loved making shape pizza’s. We practiced using sponge brushes to brush glue across our circle shape and pressing different shape cut outs to the circle to make a pizza! The infants did a great job with this. We also tried rolling balls together over or inside large shapes we made on the floor with masking tape! Our infants loved looking at color/shape books together as a group, exploring shape sorters and stacking shape blocks together! We also loved retrieving light up sensory balls from inside our large pop up tunnel. It has been a great week but we look forward to a new theme next week! Until next time!

This week in the infant classroom the theme is Friends! Here are our crowd favorites from the week..
The infants loved to explore together in small groups this week. We practiced taking turns, waving to our friends and teachers in class and our big kid friends outside. The older infants also enjoyed taking chalk and bubbles outside this week. We tried making marks on our patio wall with chalk, popping bubbles and clapping for our friends learning to take steps and walk with the push cart! Our infants also enjoyed painting/stamping with bubble wrap taped to the end of an empty toilet paper roll! It was fun to watch the group notice the small bubble marks on their paper and to see which friends preferred to use their fingers instead of the stamping tool! We have had a blast this week and we are so excited to see you all at the Fall festival on Saturday. Until next time!

This week in the infant classroom we explored the theme of Rain forest and jungle. We explored quite a bit this week but here are some of the infant’s favorites from the lesson plan. Our entire group of infants enjoyed exploring clear contact paper with a parrot on it! The older one year old infants loved sticking different colored feathers to the contact paper. Our younger infants loved to touch the feathers on our sticky paper, and try tummy time on top of it after we stuck it to the ground! We also tried an activity where we used masking tape to tape jungle animals to the walls and ground. The infants then practiced “rescuing” or removing the animals from their tape. We tried finger painting at the low table and the art easel as well! It’s been a lot of fun this week, but we look forward to our Friends theme next week.

This week in the infant classroom the theme is All About Me! Here are a few of our favorite activities from the week so far. Our younger infants have been working on their sounds and exploring different sensory books with teachers. It’s been fun to try imitating the sounds we hear from our group of infants and watching and talking about their reactions out loud! Our older infant’s have tried a few different things this week but a crowd favorite was rolling and retrieving light up sensory balls out of a large pop up tunnel. It was fun to see the children smile and interact with one another through the mesh tunnel as well as seeing them work on retrieving the balls independently or with teacher help. We’ve had a blast this week in the infant classroom but we look forward to our Jungle theme on Monday. Until next time!

This week in the infant classroom, we explored many different things for our Back to School theme. The group loved to sing “The Wheels on the Bus” with teachers and watching/practicing different hand motions! We also explored transportation vehicles as we sang. We have a few friends that are practicing how to pull up to standing, so we’ve been exploring different light up and noisy toys on the tops of our low tables and shelves to encourage our friends. Our mobile friends also practiced retrieving light up balls and small toys out of our pop up tunnel and loved waving and blowing kisses to our older friends outside on the big kid playground. It has been a great week in the infant classroom but we look forward to a new theme next week.

This week in the infant classroom the theme is Legos! Here are our favorite activities so far this week. Our one year old infants enjoyed using jumbo Legos to paint with! It was fun to show the infants how to move the Lego from the paint bowl to the paper and the reactions they gave. Our younger infants loved knocking down jumbo Lego blocks after our one year old group practiced counting and stacking them with teachers! We did get to talk about the weather and about the rain, lightening and thunder we’ve had this week as well! Our smaller infants loved using flash lights while our older infants slept during nap time! We waved bubble wands in the air and practiced saying “Pop!” as they fell to the ground and exploring and tossing bean bags into mini baskets! It’s been a wonderful week in the infant room, and we look forward to a new theme next week!

This week in the infant classroom the theme is Music! We enjoyed quite a bit this week but here are a few of the infant’s favorites. Our one year old infants loved “drumming” paint of paper using jumbo pop sticks. It was fun to get a little messy and make different marks on the paper with the sticks. We also pulled out the mini tambourines and maracas for the group. The group enjoyed trying to shake the instruments fast and slow. The whole group practiced taking turns dropping different shaped cookie cutters into different size holes in an empty box. Another crowd favorite was exploring with the parachute! We placed different sensory balls and bouncy balls in the center of the parachute and the infants tried holding onto its handles and shaking/moving the balls with teacher help! It’s been a blast in the infant classroom, but we look forward to a new theme next week. Until next time!

This week in the infant classroom the theme was sports! We have had a blast with this theme. Our infants loved exploring different types of balls, and how we can use them. We practiced rolling balls to friends as well as rolling the balls towards small plastic cups to knock them over! We had a blast singing “Take me out to the ball game!” as the infants practiced clapping their hands as we sang together. Our older infants took their hand at painting with Q-tips and finger paint, this was a new and exciting way for our infants to try painting. We also loved popping bubbles and exploring stacking rings. We look forward to our swim day tomorrow as well! Until next time!

The infants loved listening to different holiday music on CD and making music together using different shakers and bells! The infants loved it when we sang jingle bells and practiced shaking our bells fast and slow. The class also explored pop up boxes and stacking rings and counting together as we took plastic ginger bread men in and out of baskets! The infants enjoyed our swim day earlier this week as well as a neighbor hood walk. We saw dogs, flowers and all different types of big trucks! This week in the infant classroom the theme was construction! Here are a few of our favorites in the classroom. Our older infants loved talking about cars and trucks that help us build! We tried making car tracks with chunky cars and blue paint on paper! It was fun to sing songs like “The wheels on the bus” during this activity and talking about how the chunky car wheels go round and round just like the bus! We explored jumbo blocks and empty containers to practice counting as we practiced making tall towers together! The infants also enjoyed talking about different construction vehicles as we used vehicle stamps at the low table. We’ve had a blast this week but we do look forward to our new theme of Christmas in July on Monday. Until next time!
