Music - Older Toddler

Tuesday- Swim Day

Art

on Monday we painted on easel's while listening to classical music, On Wednesday, we made a "Disco" ball by painting paper plates with metallic paint and sprinkling on glitter, Thursday, we made a "Rubik Cube" by gluing on all the colors found on the cube onto a black paper square, and tomorrow, we will make a Guitar by painting and gluing on yarn for strings.

Math

The children practiced their colors by matching colored ice cream scoops to colored bowls instead of cones, the children explore with Uno cards by naming the colors and matching the colors they knew with other Uno cards, we also explored with play dough and plastic magnet letters to press on the play dough to make shapes.

Motor Development

The children explored with many different kinds of puzzles- 2-3 piece puzzles for older children and 1-2 piece puzzles for under children, we also explored with balancing boards and pieces to practice balance and coordination and, tomorrow we will practice spool threading with yarn.

Friday

Fun Bubbles experiment, make Avocado pops, Ring around the Rosie outside, water balloon toss and move Bingo game.

Tuesday- Swim Day

Art

So far the children have made a baseball by marble painting white paper with red paint, Football- by sponge painting with brown paint and placing white strips on top, Hockey- by gluing on Hockey stick and black pucks to white paper and tomorrow, the children will roll apples on rolled paper to make different patterns and designs.

Motor Development

The children practiced lacing with string and foam sports cards, played Hockey with craft sticks and black lids by hitting the lid to a partner back and forth, straw lacing with various objects such as spools, rigatoni, beads and round logs to practice eye-hand coordination, finger grasp and balance. Follow Directions: action cube at group time

Math

The older children played "Sport Ball Bingo matching" by finding all the sports balls on grid and placing card on top until fully complete, During group time, we named all the sports balls in the basket and teacher asked the children if the ball was big or small? each child had a turn, # craft stick counting with sport cups, Football stickers to make a pattern on field pattern by taking turns and tomorrow, we will use red, black play dough with bowling pin # sticks.

Friday

we will make a watermelon sport drink with coconut water, watermelon and ice, Balloon Hockey outside with black balloons and swatters to hit. The children will guess what ball will bounce by guessing before bouncing and a simple fact about why balls bounce.

This weeks theme is" X-MAS in July"

Tuesday- Swim Day

Art

The children made X-Mas trees by Koosh painting and adding glitter to make sparkling trees, Candy canes by gluing on white strips, presents by gluing on wrapping paper squares and tomorrow the children will decorate their own Gingerbread Man.

Math

X-mas duck counting with X-mas pails and coin counting to work on and build one-to-one, Santa dry erase boards with numbers on beard to practice number recognition, pointing and counting aloud ,tomorrow we will explore with colored tiles to make patterns, stack and count.

Fine Motor

The children practiced their lacing with Holiday boards/shoestrings-this allows the children to practice weaving in and out and grip with fingers, Holiday Santa hats and colanders with pipe cleaners to put in the holes with index/thumb grasp to fill all the holes, dry erase boards with red/green markers to practice early writing/finger grasp and begin to tell stories about their drawings.

Tuesday- Swim Day

Art

Wednesday we did Monday's art which was stamping with Legos, white paint and blue paper to make Geometric Blue prints, Build your own building using craft sticks and layer on paper and, Friday we will make a car and sign collage with various road signs and colored paper cars.

Math

the children explored with various blocks- small, large, colored and tower blocks to make patterns, build and stack as high as they could, # construction vehicles with road mats to practice number recognition and Friday, we will explore with tape shapes and blocks for matching and naming colors.

Fine Motor

Monday, the children practiced holding and working scissors with paper, Move and learn pattern road by following the paper road, construction lacing cards to practice manipulation, grip and weaving and practice tracing lines on paper with crayons.

Friday

Mentos experiment, make "Stop Light cups" healthy snack- layer green grapes, pineapples and strawberries in a clear cup and eat for snack, Practice weaving in and out of orange cones outside and review Construction signs.

Closed Monday

Tuesday- Swim Day

Art

This week we made a paper plate sheep by painting the plate black with a sponge and adding cotton balls, Thursday- we made bird tracks by stamping with pads with yellow/orange paint and Friday, we will make Muddy Pig prints by stamping with pigs and brown paint.

Math

The children explored with pop blocks to connect the length of paper on the table with teacher help to practice measurements and patterns, towers with beads to stack and practice naming colors and, math tiles for lining up, stacking and make various patterns

Motor Development

Lacing spools with string to practice weaving in and out and finger grasp, egg shape sorters to pop open and snap shape back together allows the children to manipulate their fingers while putting the egg back together and, Legos with farm animals to make a pig pen- This allows the children to be creative while building their pens.

Book

Animals on The farm- has a different animal on each page that we named and learned a small fact about the animal

Each day at group time we named the animals and I had the children find an animal card

Tuesday- Mud Day

Art

The children stamped with forks, red/blue paint on white paper to make fireworks display, Star wreath- the children glued on paper stars and ribbon to decorate and tomorrow the children will make star wands, decorate with glitter glue, craft sticks and ribbons.

Math

Star cups color match, various size red/blue plastic cups for making patterns and guessing which cup is the biggest? which cup is the smallest?

Motor Development

The children explored with sand, mini solo cups and silly straws to make scribbles in sand/fill and dump cups and explore with hands, red/white/blue water cubes with red/white/blue plastic hats to fill while practicing counting, star stickers to practice peeling and problem-solving.

Friday

We will have a 4th of July parade while marching with 4th of July wands, water balloon toss outside, and following directions activity- wave flag, blast like a rocket, ring like a bell, and twinkle like a star.

we read this week "How to catch a Star, America I Love You". we have been watching and listening to "Fireworks" on the IPAD and singing "Wave the Flag"

Art

The children made "Lemonade" by stamping spools on paper and gluing on straws, Ice cream cones by decorating with paint. sprinkles and a cherry on top, Fish- out of cupcake liners and gluing on eyes and stamping bubbles with paint and a Sun- by painting yellow and gluing on orange ray stripes.

Tuesday- Swim Day

Math/Fine Motor

Practice counting with lemon/lime/fruit cubes with cups, Ice cream bowls with colored ice cream toppers to practice color recognition and matching, colored blocks /linking chain blocks to build and snap together to manipulate materials/hands/fingers, fish bowls with fish and tongs to practice grip and strengthen fine motor and paper sun with clothespins and string to work clothespins by squeezing with thumb/index fingers to open and close, Fruit/veggie counters with corn trays, popsicle stand to snap together and watermelon lacing plates to practice eye-hand coordination, stringing and grip.

Working on Father's Day gifts/cards

Math

we explored with match box cars and tubes as the children rolled them down in tubes watching them come out the other end and watching the distance, We explored with various balls-baseball, soccer and football rolling them down ramps to see which one rolls the best, We sorted Legos and stacked by colors and used pound benches to pound in shapes on the bench to make them come out on the other side of bench- repeating.

Motor Development

Bean bag toss- we tossed bean bags outside in boxes and in the sir trying to catch them, we marble painted with golf balls, parachute play by doing high rises and Ring Around the Rosie, and corks and bottles practicing dropping the corks one at a time in the bottles and dumping them out by turning them upside down.

Social Emotional

We will work in teams of 2 to build towers

Songs: we will practice singing "Father's Day songs and motions all week.

We stamped with sea animal stampers with ink pads, painted paper plates blue , added green see weed and colored paper fish, made star fish by gluing on cheerios and Friday we will make a paper collage with blue, green, whit and black paper.

Math

We used ocean animal counters with cupcake tins for sorting and counting, Magnet and shoe horse wands with magnet tubes/balls and Friday, we will build with various size wooden blocks.

Motor Development

Sea animals with sand to manipulate in the sand, animal lacing boards with shoe strings to practice eye-hand coordination and finger/hand grasp, Ocean stickers w/ paper to peel using fingers and Friday, we will explore with blue play dough and ocean counters

Super Hero - Older Toddler

We made Super Kindness power cuffs by gluing glitter and lightening strips on colored long paper, Superhero crown by gluing on stars on red paper, Spiderman webs by gluing on spiders and black yarn to red paper and tomorrow, we will make Captain America shields by gluing on red/blue paper squares to paper plate and white star.

Math

We practiced counting with colored bear counters and number strips by placing bears on the lines, Bubble Gum machine counting with large bingo chips and placed them on the bubble gum ball, Button grid with colored shaped buttons to match and tomorrow we will explore with number foam puzzles.

Motor Development

The children manipulated rubber bands with hands to stretch over cans to strengthen hand/finger grip and stretch bands, We practiced stringing log pieces and stars with shoe strings, peg boards to practice eye-hand coordination and, tomorrow we will practice cutting with safety scissors and paper, grip and manipulation.

Song this week: we have been listening to and singing to "Alphabet Superhero" on YouTube, it was a big hit.

Handwashing review: Modeled proper handwashing with play sink to remind how we need to wash our hands

Health & Wellness: we will discuss different water sources, importance and ways water is helpful to us with pictures.
