June 18: Coach Charlotte visited the center to guide the class through various exercises. We have been rocking right on through music week! Our room looks so awesome, decorated with all our homemade keyboards, trumpets, boomboxes AND disco balls! We have been discussing a lot about how we can hear, see, and even feel music by vibrations. And we took time each day to listen to different genres of music, discussing how those might make our moods different!
LEGO week will be our last week here. So naturally, we will be turning our room into a lego town!I We're going to create paintings using legos, buildings out of legos, lego people and we will even be doing some ice excavation for...you guessed it! LEGOS!! I cannot believe that next week will be the last week here but we have plenty of fun things to still do! We will be making our own popsicles, and eating them too! There will be water relay races and water balloon tosses. I even have a little secret up my sleeve. I will be bringing in some whipped cream pies for all of them...to throw at me on the last day! I have a feeling that this will be one of the activities they will be enjoying most. I'm looking forward to it all! Have a great weekend!

We have been keeping our blood pumping this week for our sports theme! We have learned how to play soccer, baseball and basketball! We have also been discussing how our hearts beat, why exercise is important and the olympics! We even touched on a hard topic, Inertia!! We did a few different experiments to show how this works, using bill nye the science guy here and there to help explain in detail! We now know that an object at rest will remain at rest and an object in motion will remain in motion, unless there is an outside force! Next week we'll be learning about music families and making our very own instruments! Also, we will be talking about different genres of music, and how music makes us feel. Lots of fun crafts and experiments coming up, We look forward in sharing with you! Have a great weekend!

We have been working hard over here, and using our imaginations in abundance! Our SSA friends have been exploring their minds on what their underwater adventures would be, and have even applied that to our classroom with our own ecosystems! We now have little fish friends and the kids couldn't be more excited about them! We have discovered how whales stay warm under water, with a whale blubber experiment. And We made our classroom look like we were under water, with our own school of neon jellyfish and turtle pictures! Next week is SPORTS! We will be exploring some team building exercises and playing soccer, basketball, and some more games! Should be another great week!

We have had a busy construction week here at LCCC! A few things we have worked hard on include a huge spaghetti bridge, some catapults, marshmallow 3D buildings/sculptures, and parachutes for our egg drop! Everyone has been very busy, and we will be starting to build our very own ecosystems as well! Which will tie into next weeks theme, for school agers, under the sea! Where we will will be introducing some fishy classroom friends! We have learned about construction site safety and have stressed the saying "THINK SAFETY ACT SAFELY!" along with finding out what kind of tools and gear wed wear on a construction site!
Stay safe and stay healthy!

This week our theme has been FARM! We have all been working very hard on art projects and experiments!!
We have even transformed our classroom into our very own farmland! We have free range chickens, apple trees, bee hives and sheep! Everyone is now experts at butter making and have been using milk in other ways too, like making it magical! Going hand in hand with farm week, we have been talking a lot about the food pyramid. Learning about how and where we get our food, and what kind of food groups there are! I can't wait for you all to join in the fun of watering/caring for our baby pepper plants, which right now are just tiny little seeds! We will be taking notes on their growth for the next week or so, seeing just how cool it is to be in touch with where and how our foods make it to the grocery stores! It has been an exciting week, with an even more exciting theme next week, CONSTRUCTION!!! Have a wonderful weekend!

Hello LCCC Families!
This week was full of so much fun! We made tons of different styled fireworks, made star spangled slime, and had fun in the sun with our water relay race! We also learned some fun facts of the USA. Some facts being that there are 50 states and 13 stars on our flag! We even found out that George Washington had wooden teeth, how neat!
I hope everyone has fun filled plans this long weekend, and we can't wait to see you all next week!
