Construction Week - Young Toddler

It’s construction week and they have had so much fun with all different types of vehicles and building materials in songs, books and activities. Their art activities included running trucks through paint on paper, gluing white strips of paper on a stop sign, and painting on bubble wrap. All About Construction - Infant

This week in the infant classroom the theme was construction! Here are a few of our favorites in the classroom. Our older infants loved talking about cars and trucks that help us build! We tried making car tracks with chunky cars and blue paint on paper! It was fun to sing songs like “The wheels on the bus” during this activity and talking about how the chunky car wheels go round and round just like the bus! Botanical Gardens - Summer School Age

During this short week, we went to The Botanical Gardens where we saw lots of different plants & animals. The kids also went on a scavenger hunt while exploring the gardens. We had lunch at Wade Oval, where Mr. K met us and brought us cookies! At the weaving studio, everyone got to create their very own terrarium! To finish off the week, we visited Tri-City park. The kids played soccer, catch, rolled down the hills, and climbed on the climber.

Farm Animals - Infant

This week in the infant classroom the theme was farm! We talked about all different types of animals this week. The infants loved to sing Old MacDonald together while we explored farm animal puppets and told stories with them. The older infants enjoyed trying to sort plastic farm animals by their color with teacher help. We also counted the animals out loud while we took them in and out of baskets. The children made a "cow" by adding black paper squares to contact paper , paper plate sheep by gluing on cotton balls, black paper legs, head and eyes and, "Muddy Pig"- pig cut out in a gallon bag with brown paint and shaving cream to squish with hands to cover pig.

All about the farm and the animals this week! Tuesday in art the children cut out shapes and glued to paper. In language the children listened to a story being read about the animals on the farm, and then did some recall of events from the story. This week in the infant classroom the theme is America the Beautiful! We have explored and talked about a lot but here are our favorite’s from the week. Our older infants were able to participate in mud day with the center! It was a wonderful exciting time and we loved seeing our infants explore the sensory of the mud. It's time to celebrate our country this week and there has been so many new experiences! We had mud day which was a whole lot of fun for everyone that participated! While inside the classroom, art activities have had them painting with koosh balls (to resemble fireworks), decorating a wreath with stars that they added glitter, sequins and paint to and tomorrow they will make a flag.
