How To Be A Good Friend - Pre-K

Posted by Lakewood Childcare Center on February 11, 2020 at 5:10 PM

This week, we are not only working on Valentines for the ones we love, but are really trying to remember how to be a good friend. Yesterday, we started making some friendship bracelets for those peers in the classroom. We are also trying to get back in the habit of complementing, saying "I like your picture" or "Thank you for helping me" or "I need some help please". All to often, we forget the good and dwell on the not-so-good. We are working on being kind in the classroom. One of the phrases we say a lot is "Teamwork makes the dream work!" If we work together, we can get a lot more done. We also say, "kindness matters!" Yesterday we did some spin art with red and white paint. We also have been working on our numbers today with the heart clip cards in the math area. The highlight of our two days so far has been the field trip to Emerson kindergarten classrooms! We had so much fun, learned all about kindergarten at Emerson and got to see what kind of things that kindergarten boys and girls like best! Tomorrow, we will be having our annual morning Valentine celebration with the toddler classroom. We will be the "big" kids and we will be able to help the little ones around our room. We will make a project, play some games and even make a snack! We are having a fun-filled week and it's only Tuesday!
