Continuing our theme of the five senses has been a blast! A crowd favorite in all the age groups in the infant room was watching and exploring the electric aquarium! We shut all the lights off in the classroom which got everyone’s attention in itself! It was fun to talk about how the room looks different in the dark vs the light before turning the aquarium on. Once we did flip the aquarium on, the infants loved looking at the moving fish and sea life. We talked about the how beautiful the sea colors looked to us with the lights off. We also explored flashlights together while the lights were off which was a blast. The younger infant groups also enjoyed exploring colorful scarves stuck in empty paper towel rolls. It was a wonderful cognitive and fine motor activity for all in the room. To mix up working on our gross motor skills, the infants explored a small pop up tent and small sensory balls that we rolled in and out of the tent. We looked at our reflections in the play yard mirror and talked about our own reflections and those of other friends we saw in the mirror. We’ve listened to and danced to different music as a group and enjoyed feeling and talking about cold and warm temperatures. We will continue to explore and talk about our five senses the rest of the week before moving onto Saint Patrick’s Day Theme! Until next time!
