Father's Day - Toddler

Posted by [email protected] on June 18, 2020 at 2:20 PM

This week, the toddlers were learning about Father's Day! We kicked our theme off with asking the toddlers what they like to do with their daddies. A lot of them said play outside, see trains, play inside with their toys, etc.

On Monday, at the art table, we made a special gift for our daddies for Father's Day. At the math table, the toddlers matched daddies doing different activities such as grilling, going to the park, building things like birdhouses, etc. At the manipulative table, the toddlers worked their fine motor skills and used tongs to pick up vehicle sorters and sort into ice cube trays.

On Tuesday, at the art table, we made a card for our daddies to attach to the special gift for Father's Day. At the math table, the toddlers matched sports balls to sports players. At the manipulative table, the toddlers used popsicle sticks with sports balls on them to stick into styrofoam blocks.

On Wednesday, at the art table, we made a #1 dad award with yellow paint and glitter. At the math table, the toddlers matched award die cuts with stickers and emotions faces on them. At the manipulative table, the toddlers sorted ties laminated into cans.

On Thursday, at the art table, we painted with plastic chicken legs to pretend we were grilling. At the math table, the toddlers sorted fruit ice cubes into bowls. At the manipulative table, the toddlers used spatulas and tongs and pretended to grill on black poster board with different meats.

Happy Father's Day!
