With father’s day approaching, this week’s theme and some activities related to father’s day! Monday in art the children glued some things together for a special something for dad. In language the children worked wit telling stories, they were given a picture of a who, a what, and a place; and using those pictures created a simple sentence or a short story about those pictures. In math the children matched paper numbers to a number line, this helped expos them to what a number line looks like as well as what the numbers look like written in order 1-10. Tuesday in art the children continued to glue some things together. In language the children worked on letter sounds by identifying a letter the teacher held up, practicing it’s sound and then practiced writing the letter. In math the children engaged in a concentration game of different patterned ties. Yesterday in art the children painted with cups and in language they dictated answers to questions all about dad. In math, the children in group 1 sorted animal counters by color and then counted how many in each color group, and the children in group 2 worked with pet counters on a 1:1 grid. Today in art the children painted on paper using paintbrushes and in math the children worked with button sorting using solo cups. This afternoon we will do the language activity which is a listening focused activity where the children will answer who, what, when, where and why questions; this activity will also show comprehension and understanding of questions asked. Tomorrow in art the children will do some sponge painting and in language they ill dictate why dad is special. In math the children will work on counting items throughout the room such as all the blue items, red items, chairs, tables and so on.
