Celebrating Summer - Toddler

Posted by [email protected] on June 25, 2020 at 2:35 PM

This weeks theme is "Summer". For art so far this week the children made Lemonade cups by stamping with spools and gluing on a straw with an umbrella, watermelons by painting paper plate and gluing on black seeds, ice cream cones by gluing and stacking ice cream paper scoops and fish by gluing on shiny cupcake liners, bubbles and eyes.

At the manipulative tables the children explored with fruit/veggie counters with tongs and corn trays to practice open-close motions and squeeze, watermelon lacing cards, colored popsicles for snapping and pulling, colored plastic fish with tongs and fish bowls and tomorrow the children will make patterns with clothes pins.

At the math table we had lemon/lime counting cubes with number cups, watermelon seed counting, ice cream bowls and colored ice cream scoops to match colors and stack and tomorrow the children will use paper ray strips to make patterns.

Summer songs we sang this week: In Summer, Summer Poem and Summer Melon
