That is right, we learned about summer all this week. The children have been busy making watermelons, painting with pool noodles and even making flower prints from paper towel rolls. During the week, the children also measured some fish and sea animals with unifex cubes, put the sun in numerical order and made patterns using different colored spoons. At the science table all week, we have had our lovely "Walking Rainbow" experiment. All you need is 4 cups of water and put whatever food coloring you would like in each cup and then take paper towels and put it in each cup with an end overlapping. It is pretty cool to see how the paper towel soaks up the water. You can also find the experiment on pinterest. The children have been working on rhyming words and writing different summer words as well. We took some time out of our day to practice our name writing and we will continue to practice name writing as much as we can. Throughout the week, we have also been listening to the Moana soundtrack as well as Lilo and Stitch because who doesn't like a little summer music and of course Elvis Presley (Lilo and Stitch). The summer week sadly ends tomorrow but there will be more fun next week! We hope everyone has an amazing weekend and hope the weather holds up!
