This week in the infant classroom is the Sports theme. A lot has been explored but some of the favorite activities per our infants, include tossing bean bags into empty baskets, practicing kicking balls all different types of balls with our legs while we stand independently and exploring stringing toys! The stringing toys were a blast but a challenge. Us teachers would hold the tip of the lacing toy upright for the infants. We would encourage the infants to pick up and hold the different animal rings if interested. It was a fun way to not only practice some fine motor skills, but also to talk about animal noises! We practiced cat and frog noises and hopped like bunnies when we got to the purple rabbit rings! The infants then took their hand at stringing the animal rings onto the stack and some were successful in doing so all on their own! We also painted while we stood independently at the art easel with purple paint! Some infants were not too sure about standing while holding the sponge brush at the same time, while others went for it and had some messy purple fun! We’ve practiced putting stickers on paper together, and taking turns looking at our reflections while we explore colorful scarves in the play yard! It has been a wonderful week, and we look forward to our Music theme next week! Until next time!
