This week in the Young Toddler room, we have been learning all about friends! We began the week discussing what a friend is and the importance of having friends. We've read lots of books illustrating great friendships, a classroom favorite is Stick and Stone. The children also enjoyed painting with small figurine sponges on paper and utilizing their fine motor skills by pressing boy and girl shaped cookie cutters into play-dough! We have also enjoyed singing songs about friendship and dancing to "if your happy and you know it". Also, outside on the patio, our young friends have enjoyed painting with chalk and water on large sheets of paper! We have also practiced counting and stacking with small numbered wooden blocks. The young toddlers love to count out loud the number of blocks stacked and watch them all fall down! We have also added lots of new books for our young friends to read about friends and the fall season in our classroom reading area! We've had an amazing week! Until next time!
