This week was all about friends, how to be a friend and how to be a Bucket Filler (when you make someone feel good by helping, sharing or just saying "hello". We can be Bucket Fillers to our friends, family and even our neighbors. We heard the story of Rainbow Fish and had discussions of sharing and how then you will have friends that want to play with you, not "swim" away from you. The boys and girls told ways to share and we added their words to our own Rainbow Fish. We have been working on simple number recognition for math (Pre-K2 boys and girls are challenged other ways) and putting numbers 1-10 in order. We have been working on counting to 20 out loud to help with math skills and also a way to time ourselves when washing our hands. For art, we have been coloring a lot to strengthen our small muscles in our hands. We also made some friendship bracelets to not only work our hands, but to make a peer smile! In science, we have been exploring with magnifying glasses and examining leaves, rocks and other nature. Tomorrow, we will using some people stampers on paper and trying out different colors of stamp pads, mixing some colors and getting ready for "color week" which is next week.
