That's right, this week was all about pirates! The children had some fun as we dove into the high seas. We learned about what a pirate is and that they are not the nicest of people since they like to take other people's treasures! We learned different phrases of a pirate such as Jolly Roger (the pirate flag). Which we read a story about why it is called a Jolly Roger because of a pirate named Roger. The children made pirate hats and telescopes this week as well as two cute handprint pirates. This week we also learned about the letter Cc. We read a book, listened to the sound the letter makes, sang a song and wrote some Cc words on the chalkboard. The children have been playing with fun gems all this week as well as mini treasure chests. We did an experiment in the beginning of the week where we put pennies in salt and vinegar and then soap and water to figure out which solution cleaned the pennies the best and we noticed it was the soap and water! We also took gems outside and hid them around the patio and the children had a blast trying to find the treasure. We had a blast this week learning and talking like pirates! We hope that everyone has a fabulous weekend and enjoy the cool weather!
