This week in the infant classroom we’ve explored the theme of Community helpers and Fire safety! There has been a lot that we’ve talked about and explored but a few activities stood out to be favorites among the infants. Our older infant’s over 1 year old, took their hand at letter stamps as we sang the ABC’s with our younger infants and talked about the sounds each letter makes together as a group! The infants also enjoyed exploring their own personal baggie of shaving cream with drops of food coloring inside the bag. We talked about how we can use our hands to mix the contents of the bag and change the color of the shaving cream! Our older infants over 1 year, also enjoyed sticking uncooked spaghetti noodles in Plato for each infant to have their own. We then imitated and used hand in hand to string cheerios on the uncooked noodles! It was challenging but new and fun for our older children in the room! Our younger infants are working on their mobility, sitting up, rolling over and standing with support at furniture for play! It has been a fun week in the infant classroom, but we look forward to our Nursery Rhymes theme next week! Until then!
