This week has been a fun filled week of Nursery Rhymes! At group time, the children were asked if they knew what a Nursery Rhyme was. Many answered saying that a Nursery Rhyme is a story that has a couple rhyming words in it. From there, it lead to us working on rhyming words this week. Sometimes before going to an area, we will call on a friend and ask them to give us a word that rhymes with hat and if they got it right, then they were able to choose their area. It is a skill that we will continue to work on! This week, at the science table, the children worked on their parachute because we started our egg drop experiment which goes off of learning about Humpty Dumpty. The children got their own bag of supplies which included a small cup, a small cupcake liner, string and a paper towel. We did a couple egg drops today and the children had a blast! Miss Chasity hard boiled some of the eggs, so some eggs did not make as much as a mess as a non-hard boiled egg! This week at art, the children made a mother goose out of their hand, a clock from Hickory Dickory Dock, their very own Humpty Dumpty out of a plate, and painted a paper plate while using a plastic spoon. This week our letter was Ee. The children read a story and sang a song that went along with this letter. We also came up with some words that started with the letter Ee and will work on writing the letter. Nursery Rhyme week has been fun but sadly it is slowly coming to an end. We will have more fun next week though! We hope you all have a wonderful weekend ahead of you!
