Exploring - Infant

It’s theme week and it has been a lot of fun with the different activities that we had planned. The older children have had several chances to experience art activities with crayons and stickers and music has been a main component in the classroom as well. They were dancing with ribbons and shaking instruments to all different kinds of international music – that was a lot of fun! Fine motor activities have revolved around some of their favorite toys – pop up animals and peg boards – they get so excited when they see us get these particular ones out! Building block towers, shape sorters, and rolling balls have also been a constant source of entertainment for our older children. We have been reading books and they have been experiencing books in their own way as well, touching the different textures and lifting the flaps. The smallest babies have enjoyed peek-a-boo and puppets and to watch their faces light up, is so rewarding! Everything that is new to them makes them so happy which in turn makes our day so much fun as well. Sensory activities in our room have been limited but we have been trying to give them individual activities so they can experience some type of sensory experience – this week we gave them their own wad of tape to explore, some loved it and some didn’t but it was a great chance for them to discover something new. It has been a busy week but it has been fun, different and interesting! Onto families next week!
