We hope that you had an awesome week just like we did! This week was a little different from the rest because some of the children had safety town while the others stayed back. Our safety town friends learned how to be safe while out and about such as fire safety, how to look both ways when crossing the street and swimming safety just to name a few! But those who stayed back also had some fun learning about summer. We discussed how we know that it is summer and many of the answers were because it gets hot out or the sun is out. There were also a few that said, "You need sunscreen during summer!" Even though it was a little chilly some days this week, we also did water play but in a modified way where we used spray bottles instead of using a pool....overall, we still had fun :). This week we did a walking rainbow experiment where we had a total of five cups filled with water which four had food coloring in it and the other was just plain water. Next, we took paper towels and put them in the water overlapping each other to create a rainbow and watched as the water walked its way up and over each paper towel. And of course we can't forget our field trips! Tuesday we had a little change of plans and instead of going to Scenic, we went to Lakewood Park where the children played on the climbers and we took a walk down by the lake. Today, we went to Linden park where the children rolled down the hill and played on the climber. We also had a picnic style lunch where we sat in the grass and ate. We hope the children had just as much fun as we did! We hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
