Christmas and Summer - Pre-School

Posted by [email protected] on July 22, 2021 at 2:15 PM

Christmas!! So fun to engage in activities and read stories about Christmas, in the summer! Monday in art the children painted with Christmas cookie cutters, in math they traced numbers with colored gems and in language the children dictated 3 things about Christmas. Tuesday the children explored using their tongue to pick up a "snowball," (marsh-mallow). In math the children rolled a die, counted the dots and then needed to find the corresponding number on a Christmas tree. In art the children painted paper plates green. Wednesday in math the children engaged in counting cookies and in language they worked with letter blocks to build them, knock them down and identify the letters face up after falling. Today in art the children created a snow scene painting with cups to create snowballs and in math the children explored geometric shapes. Today was also another fun swim day! Tomorrow in art the children will make snowflakes and in math they will work with a 1:1 mat with paper cookies and in language the children will sort the words by the first letter sound. Tomorrow the children will also decorate a Christmas cupcake; we read a story today that talked about Christmas cake, and we all agreed it'd be fun to have a Christmas cupcake tomorrow to decorate!
