This weeks theme is "Jungle/Rain Forest"
Monday the children made rain sticks by decorating colored tubes and filling them with beans/noodles, Parrot- painted paper red and added a beak, feathers and eyes, Monkey- painted paper plate brown and glued on ears, tail, eyes, nose and banana, snake- glued yellow tissue paper to letter "S" and tomorrow the children will make a butterfly(symmetry art).
The children practiced numbers by using number peg boards, large Giraff's with sticker dots to place on Giraff's spots to practice counting, Lady bug number sorters, snake pattern with small colored blocks to follow patterns and tomorrow we will sort colored jungle animals with muffin tins.
Slid and build nature blocks to practice finger grasp and manipulate logs to make fit, contact paper with feathers to place on and try and take off, scissor practice with animal print paper to practice holding scissors and opening and closing, frogs on a log to practice balance and tomorrow we will use bug catcher's with plastic bugs and scoops to fill up bug catcher and work fingers with scoops.
We're going on a Lion Hunt song and motions during group and the children named their favorite Jungle animal
We will make Banana and strawberry Kabob's and the children asked to make Chocolate chip cookies
