This weeks theme is "Friends"
Miss Brenda introduced the theme with a book that talks about how unique everyone is, spectacular, wonderful, smiles and children's minds full of magic! Miss Brenda Also touched on and reviewed Safe hands and Voices are not for yelling at friends and teachers.
so far this week we made a "Friendship Tree with all the children's handprints(it's hanging on the back wall), friendship wreath with the children's handprints cut out, friendship train- the children decorated colored paper to make a long chain link and, tomorrow the children will make a 'Friendship quilt with all their painted handprints on quilt squares.
The children practiced their colors by using colored chip clips and matching them to colored paper, colored people counters and square colored cups to count, match and drop in the cups and tomorrow the children will stick colored sticker dots to wall paper to continue to practice colors.
During activity time the children worked on connecting rainbow people connectors by manipulating and pushing them together with fingers, followed a road pattern on the table using small match box cars to follow directions, strawberry colander's and straws to poke through the the holes using eye-hand coordination and finger grasp and, tomorrow the children will make play dough from scratch by measuring, mixing and rolling.
