This week in the infant classroom we have been exploring the Cooking theme! The younger infant’s practiced reaching for or holding onto measuring cups and plastic utensils, while we talked about how we use these tools to make meals! The older infant’s loved making plates of healthy foods at our pretend kitchen. We talked about the colors and sizes of the fruits and veggies, and we even practiced sorting the food by color on our plates as a challenge! The infants also got to explore their own shallow water in a bin and practiced grasping and holding small floating balls and toys in the water, one on one with a teacher! It was a great way to practice using both our hands to retrieve the toys we’d like, and such fun to splash a bit in water! Next week we will be talking about Black History! Until next time!
